Teri Laadki Mein, chodungi na tera haath!

દીકરી ની વિદાય 

છું હૂં  મારા પપ્પાની લાડલી 

પણ છું હૂં મમ્મી તારી ઢીંગલી, ઢીંગલી.

આજે શણગારતા મુજને 

તારી હથેળી ધ્રૂજે, 

અરે જો જો ખિલી છે
કેવી તારી કળી, કળી.

વિસ્મય થી નિહારે આંખો તારી,  

પણ છું હૂં મમ્મી છબી તારી, તારી.

I might be my dad's princess,
But I am your doll, Mummy.
Today, your hands shivered while dressing me up.
O dear mummy, look how your budding has grown up.
Your eyes look at me with amuse,
But i am just a shadow of you.

પા પા કરતી પપ્પા ની આ લાડલી 

ચાલી છે કુમ-કુમના પગલા ભરવા

પલક ના ઝબકારા માં

ક્યારે મોટી થઇ ને

ક્યારે પારકી થઇ ગઈ.

હજી કાલની તો વાત હતી

ખજૂર કોપરા કરવા જિદ્દ કરતી

નિશાળે મુકવા જતા ધ્રુસકે રડી પડતી

પપ્પા તમે મને છોડી કેમ જાવ છો :પૂછતી

આજે ડોલી માં સવાર થઇ ગઈ

કાલ સુધી ઘર ઘર રમતી

આજે ઘર વસાવી રહી છે.

The teeny tiny step taking toddler
Is now stepping into household.
With a blink of eye,
the years of her youth have passed by.
It was just yesterday,
when she pleaded not be left alone at school,
and when she wanted me to carry her on my back.
Today she gets carried in carriage.
Until yesterday she played in her dollhouse,
Today, my Doll is ready to make a house.

ઘરે થી તોહ જવ છું,  

પણ હૃદય માં કાયમ માટે ઘર કરી જવ છું. 

આજે ઘર થી દૂર જવ છું,

હૃદય માં, કાલ હતી એના કરતા વધારે નજીક આવવા.

Though I leave this house,

I am leaving behind a home 

within your hearts!
Today, i am going away from home,
to come closer in heart!  

Stars, I adored you until today...

This morning
I saw Stars in my eyes
When your name lit up my cellphone screen.

Once, a cosmic influence
Laid me in your hands,
You rocked my little world
Star-ed like an epitome
Of  Courage and hope.

Today one such cosmic influence,
I saw you empowered by Stars.
Leaves me wondering,
What happened to my RockStar?

My Father

My Dearest Pappa,

Walking down the aisle of my memory lane,

I recollect you

             Waiting at school gate with candies,
                              so, I would attend my K.G. class.
             Learning new ways to make chart of alphabets,
                              so, I would memorize them.
             Teaching me Math and Grammar,
                               so, I would do my homework
             Bringing Ice-cream everyday during exams,
                               so, I would have a peace of mind.

                         Rebuking Mummy over bothering me

                                           so, I could have a short hair cut.

                         Walking ten different shops

                                          so, I could have my desired outfit.

                         Cheering me whenever I am doom

                                           so, I would regain my spirits

                         Adapting to the new technologies

                                          so, I could communicate at ease.
                        Emailing me the thoughts of wisdom

                                          so, I would not be baffled over life.

                        Lending a silent ear to all my debates

                                         so, I could convey my concerns.

                       Taking pride in every little achievement of mine

                                          so, I strive for the best.

                                                     

Jotting down my bonding with you on this scrap of paper

would limit me to few moments that I have with you

Whereas my journey in this life would have not begin

had it not been Your hands to carry me!

Here, I pause not end

            for my relation with You is beyond words!
