Bang Bang

A very thoughtful start of the B week at ABC wednesday with tribute to the incident in Norway.

So, I was thinking, what to post for letter B this week. And as i visit one of my friend's little Baby, i came across the toy which sings the nursery rhymes and i hear the famous rhyme old mcdonald had a farm.  That reminded me of  Britain's got talent participant Erick Reid's version of this rhyme. So he goes with a baaa- baaa - baaa, baa here, baa there, everywhere baa baa. Makes me go Boy-o- Boy.  Do check out his version, which has surely revolutionized the rhyme recitals and baffled all the listeners.

Interestingly,  Gujarati which is my native language, Ba refers to grandma. Often one of my friend refers to his elderly office colleague as Ba, and i get puzzle over which Ba he refers to as he stays as a paying guest to an elderly couple (Ba-dada which means grandma-grandpa). More often a toddler whispers Ba as the first word.  Baba in Hindi would mean a saint, little boy or father. Also, "ba-ba" refers to goodbye or outing in toddlers language.

Well, that's all the Blah blah I have for now. Until then Buh-Bye (read ba-ba).

PS: Gujarati and Hindi are one of the many languages spoken in India.

Correlation

They say "Necessity is mother of inventions" but in recent times with the abundance that we are surrounded, necessity is out of question/answer. In fact, the step sister of Necessity, the Scarcity takes the vital role today.
Very example is the very old and famous Apple. A is for apple! Adam pursued it and we are still behind it, in this age. Sigh! It reminds me of   Raju Srivastav's joke on progression ;))
So again, i related Apple here because question remains the same, do we need those products??? Necessity was left behind the doors ages ago. I bet 7 out of 10 people who possess these apple products donot know the functions of it. Again applies to any new device, not necessarily apple. There is a Gujarati proverb, "Bole aena bor vhechai" ( meaning: one who speaks will sell good).

Recently, I came across this Article barack-obama-is-officially-the-baby-whisperer. Really!!!
Same is the case when yahoo or other news channels  reports similar Y lead to X crap. Sadly, it is not the case. I was taught in statistics class, correlation is a gimmick used by media to elude people.  But as they say, show some reasoning to dumb assess and even a bummer can be a prince!!!

Coming back to media who misleads the Janta (public) by misusing the correlation statistic;  please, please revise your lessons. I can correlate Govinda and Hrithik's( those are bollywood actors) dance movements but that does not necessarily prove they have the same skill sets and so to say anything in this damn world can be correlated, for "beauty belies in your eyes" ;)

Come away with me II

This week, well you might say its just Tuesday. So you can imagine how occupied I have been that i can't wait for sunday to come.  Sundays make me nostalgic and what not :) Its surely time to get some more banked Zzzzz's  which makes one of the most important factor in my ABC ( Z is ABC Wednesdays letter this week, btw).  That reminds me of the pic I mentioned in earlier post  of come away with me.
So, here is why, I found it amusing. Notice the description at the beginning of the video.
Common link between the pic and Video remains vermilion and wake(awake if you please) man
Also,  there is unusual numerical significance to the sign.
Cosine of 60(degree) = 1/2

The Music

If you ask me what taste of music i have, I would say  I enjoy music from bappi lehri's Julie-Julie, altaf raja's_tum toh there pardeshi, 98degrees_i do cherish you etc etc etc. I don't post links for songs usually.
But, these are exceptionally profound, intrinsic and amorous. I doubt my adjectives would do justice to them and hence just enjoy their essence.

PS: I do not own any of these music, so if you have copyright issues with link, go sue youtube.
Nor, do i claim i am the first one to discover these, I have come across them while blog surfing.

Beat the Bush

Don't beat the bush says the english teacher at school, your boss at work and your friends at bar.
If you follow this advice, my friend, you are missing the golden chance of earning money.
I challenge you beat president Bush in earning $15 million for speaking.
Don't believe me right?
Follow this: George W. Bush racks up $15 million in speaking fees - Yahoo! News.
I mean really? Presidents need to be paid for giving speeches to countrymen -Sigh!!!
Now, this is how presidents make six figure income and then we talk of recession and unemployment in the country.

Pan Lilu Joyu ne tame yaad aavya lyrics

P.S.  People who don't know gujarati, this is all you will follow in this post.
And if the title eluded you for the lyrics or apt meaning of the song, all i can say is "Don't blindly trust google for your search results". "Dimag ki batti jalao"

So, lets listen to this  gujarati love song.
But Ms Sonali Vajpayee,  what do you mean by Pan lilu joyu ne tame yaad avya?
If i translate it word to word;
pan = leaf , lilu=green, joyu= saw, ne = and, tame = you, yaad avya=remembered
So, Pan Lilu joyu ne tame yaad avya means seeing a green leaf reminded me of you.
Can you tell me how does a green leaf remind you of a lover?? With the most creative imaginations I can come up with these analogies:
  • In the most optimistic tone I would assume, You saw Him
    • Tip to her lover: yay! She  just called you the macho man.
  • But, this ain't a perfect world, right?  So, you meant you saw Him. Hmm, interesting.
    • Tip to her lover:  Aww, i am not being mean, but you know you cant sugar coat everytime nor can she.
  • Or  she meant she saw  Him. In the tech savvy world, we understand people's state of mind just by emoticons, wow! what a progress na?
    • Tip to her lover:  If this is the case, dear go grab a pack of donuts. Because, finally she admists you have grown from his horny man to ugly piglet  and now she feels like puking seeing you any more around her.
So, moral of the story is in any case i donot see how this would fit in the "romance" theme of the song and reminds me of this song. Sonali Vajpayee your lilu pan doesnot give me evergreen romantic vibes.
Mana ki there are very few gujarati songs and movies but that doesnot mean kuch bhi chala lene ka.

Bollywood movies in 80's

Running through the list below: all that comes to my mind is bollywood romance in 80’s.
  •  Sarso ke khet: Geez! I have not yet figured out what has running from two ends to do with romance. Is it the farther you come from the more impact it has or is it because you paid $$  to move around the khet that you don’t wanna leave a single end?
  • Scenic views in songs: If you have seen yash chopra’s movie, you would have seen all the mountains, valleys, tress surrounding the actor-actress in a scene.  How the tourist industry would have developed in Switzerland, Tokyo, Russia without bollywood  movies promoting them.
  • Bridal lift: Now this one is romantic. But imagine the pressure it built upon the newlyweds or couples to imitate it.  I mean if the girl is light weighted, the boy is safe but if not god bless his back.
  • Moon: Remember, the actor sitting by the window and comparing the actress’s face with moon on first night scenes and next thing you see is rising sun with them awake in bed.  As a kid I always wonder what was the connection between them?
  • Bush dances: Remember, when actor and actress began to kiss or came close to each other?  You can’t miss that one for sure if you have seen any romantic 80’s bollywood movie.  With the western world influence on bollywood today, that sight is rare. But, didn’t you once think why those bushes came closer or buds bloomed when they kissed?
Yes, its hilarious and we all laugh about it in retrospect but there is more to it than just fun.  So far I have never seen such creativity and imagination in western/asian movies and ads as found in Indian movies and ads.

    Relations

    Relations are unique.
    You are born with few,
    You get involved with few,
    You develop a few,
and rest are the ones you just don't know what to name them.
However, such relations live a profound impact and influence on your lives.
A single moment of hearty connection with an individual can change your perspective of life.
Years down the memory lane when you visit them, you have nothing but to cherish those memories. And that is what i call Life worth lived!
Often when i brood about relations with my friends, family, relatives, and unknowns I recollect of a TV serial episode.
It is so strange, I can still remember the episode after years and i was so glad to find it on internet one fine day. So thought would store it.

Following is the video clip of one of my favorite episode of a TV serial called Rishtey (used to be telecasted on zee tv in the years when i grew up). Hope you guys like it too.

FYI: the episode is in Hindi! Sorry, I couldn't find subtitles.
