Be-Lie-f's- the Maan-Ya-taa!!

I often come across this crap of so called "belief- maanyataa".
Notice the word belief has lie in it???
Maano ya na maano = Maanyataa. (There I said :), not really!)
Ignorance is bliss but going out with half glass full leaves you more dangerous than a pyscho killer.
For once and all, i will like to sort this out.

NB: Thank you Vinati for the blackout trick.

They say, "A way to a Man's heart is through his stomach (good food)"
what they forgot to tell you in 21st century is " In order to bring that good food on table, you will have to earn it "
So, women out there, follow your passion and chase your dreams.
Rolling pin (belan) will roll anyways, there is a reason it is called rolling ;)

They say, "Love marriage has better chance of survival than arrange marriage or vice-verse"
what they forgot to tell you is "Whether you buy clothes from branded shop or local store, the probability of them shrinking or sustaining color will depend on which cycle you choose to load it in washing machine." [Yes, i am comparing marriages with shopping].
Remember, God never created "Branded" man or woman.
If marriages fail, its solely the responsibility of the individuals involved.

They say, "Manglik  person has fierce energy and will bring disputes/conflicts possibly leading to death"
what they forgot to tell you is, Its the drive "for more"(mang = ask)  and if it was so anuaspicious why would our oldies say "mangalmay ho!"
Let me tell you a secret, a manglik person has unusual sex drive too.  Now, at-least,  i haven't heard or read, a person died due to having sex :)) If you did, let me know.
Think of color Red, It is associated to Mars (mangal), people may adore it or fear its boldness; so goes for manglik people. Disputes occur because people by default resist change and discomfort.

Its time for new year. So, lets put end to these crappy beliefs and march for fresh start!
Happy New Year! May you achieve new heights!

Realities of life

Love completes two people but the best  love songs that touch you were written by someone with broken heart.

Tears of Joy are your eyes way of saying how dearly you love the other person but you can't express them the same.

Welcome Home

Teary Eyes,
Locking lips,
Clasping hands,
Twirling legs,
Uniting Souls

Should I say
Welcome Home?
Though i have always said Hurry (Hari) Home(Om),
But hush, when do you listen?

Just Listen

Recently, I happened to be suffocated in a conversation, for it was all talking and no listening. This incident reminded me of the adage:
“You have been given two ears and one mouth for a reason.”

Truth is bitter but being silent to those bitter things does not mean what is being said is true. It takes patience to understand the silence.
When you turn patient, probably you would listen to the words which you took for silence.

I found this note on listening from a book i was reading.

When I ask you to listen to me
And you start giving advice to me
You are not doing what I have asked.
When I ask you to listen to me
And you begin to tell me why
I should not feel that way
You are trampling on my feelings
When I ask you to listen to me
And you feel you have to do something
To solve my problem
You have failed me.
Strange as that may seem.
Listen! All I ask is that you  Listen.
Don’t talk or do-just Listen
Advice is cheap;
And I can do by myself, I am not helpless.
When you do something that I can do
Or need to do for myself
You contribute to my fear and inadequacy.
But when you accept
That I feel what I feel,
No matter how irrational,
Then I can stop trying to convince
You and get about this business
Of understanding what’s behind the irrational feeling.
And when that’s clear, the answers are obvious and
I would not need advice.
Irrational feelings make sense when
We understand what’s behind them.
Perhaps that’s why prayers works for some people-
Because God is mute,
And he does not give advice or try to fix things.
God just listens and lets you work out things for yourself.
So please listen, and just hear me.
And if you want to talk, wait a minute
For you turn and I will listen to you.

Aashayein- hope

some uuh, huh, ohh

Lately, I am having nightmares and Its 2.22 am in my clock.
(2+2+2 = ? , :)) )

Such a reiteration of a useless number 2.
2 would be second choice, second hand, and anything degrading, and not something you would have at the first time, given a choice.
Brain Bubble:  uuhh?
Or,
2 could be tu, to, too.
Now, that's exicitng, adds value to life in many ways and in all right places, if you will.
Brain bubble: huh?

Or,
It could mean, i am just bored to notice the hands in clock going around.
Seriously, who has the time to watch the clock unless they are bored.
No Kidding, think of it, when was the last time you checked time in your clock while you were productive or busy?
Brain Bubble: ohhh

In context to i have my days: I take the due liberty to have my time of the day :)
One such time is 5:23, I call it my birth moment (PS : my bday is on 5/23).
I take the due liberty to liberate myself of any task at hand for that moment until the clock strikes 5:24 :)

Dhinchak Dhinchak

Howdy!!!!
How, what and why are you upto something people?
-Don't bother to respond, JK :)

Wondering whats with the title?
Ahh, that's how i respond to few friends when asked how are you doing.
-Its okay, brilliant mind, you see

Music makes my life run smooth no matter what time of the day/night.  People who have meet me or known me , have barely seen my ears without headphones plugged in. This habit has become a reason of threat for me at present. My current rommies are so desperate to see me getting involved with their chit chat, that they have threatened kicking me out of apartment if they ever found me in  similiar situation in their presence.  Who  says we have democracy in this country?
                                                                               -Sad life...

Have you ever been stung by the song your fellow roomie, friend, colleague, or xyz (oh, not you ;)) has been humming? Next thing you find yourself doing is humming to that song. And for the rest of day/evening you blame that person for bringing that song to your lips.
-Happens to me a lot of times.

Today, i woke up to the  song.  I guess, music couldn't resist coming to me too. Last week, a friend of mine and I were discussing about the effects of music in our lives and this just happens to be one. Did you ever wake up thinking of some song and you were just engrossed humming it for the rest of the day?
-Don't rem this song? Shame, shame, shame......

Took me quite a while to find the song, because all i remembered was teri nani mari toh mein kya karu.
If you think, i can sing any song, you are highly mistaken. I lost that skill ,since i was released from high school torture of reciting poems. I can barely remember more than 2 lines of a song.
-Life is short, why carry burden?

On that note here is my radio playing  Hot Chelle Rae:
You got me singing like
Woah, come on, ohh, it doesn’t matter, woah, everybody now, ohh
Just don’t stop let’s keep the beat pumpin’
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
It’s my party dance if I want to
We can get crazy let it all out

"C"' connect + cut (C+X)

C is for Connecticut.
Yep, the state of constitution. The state which cuts you from ordinary life and helps you connect to your self (state slogan often used for vacation promotions).  So, its my new place of abode (for the people who read my  posts).

PS: I cannot get over the pun in the pic. Didn't i mention travelling is fun?

C is for Children.
How hard is to connect with ourselves? Children’s world is fascianting and so wonderful. This is what comes to my mind when I watch Curious George and Caillou.

C is for Cycle.

Surely, as ABC team mentioned C is almost a circle, I believe it is definitely a circle. So, as I reached Conneticut my friend received me with the celebration balloons. Celebration is a cycle, which begins with music, cakes and then you worry about the calories and often use allergy medicine because every nibble of those nuts counts!!!

C is for Common Sense.

Hell  No! Ladies have some mercy on your spine, when you adorn those spiky heels. Though they say moving outside the comfort zone is necessary for change, common sense is the word to be coined for caution.  Crunch your spine for the right purpose.

C is for Correct!
How difficult is it to make a correct choice? Often times we fail to choose the correct. I have the three C checklist for making a correct choice.

So, if you are conscious about what makes you comfortable and confident, there is no way you cannot be correct.

Did you like my C post?  Would love to see your comments. For more ABC posts check the link.
Cya, until then and ofcorse stay cool.
Cheers!!!

Here and There

Howdy!

Hope everyone is in the "pink" of their health. Isn't it strange you think of health when you are ill?
So, its been freaking Hot at my place,  97-110F temperature for 4 days at a stretch. Oh don't give me that eye saying that's normal in India thing! I will bang your head right there.  Its HOT and trust it when an Indian says these two golden words, heat and tan. You can't wrong with those. For proof, i am 4 shades tanner than what i was last week, all thanks to the sun kissed weather, that i barely recognize myself as indian. I feel more like a red or say orange indian.

So, I went to Air Show this weekend. Its a great place to witness "The Men" in uniform. There is something with uniform and girl's fantasy that goes without saying :). If i had the art to sell the curiosity, i would have filled pages about it. So, when i am surrounded with men in blue, white and green (Airforce, Navy, Military) there is an immense flow of joy, pride and discipline in my skeleton that in other places and days would be just a good boy/girl's lookout. Seriously, haven't you felt the same when you are surrounded by such people? I have to admit stars have always fascinated me may it be in the sky, the one my kindergarten teacher gave on my assignment or on the uniform. Ahh, i used to take pride in the increasing # and colors of stars on my Dad's uniform. As a matter of fact, i love those stars on any man, but the feeling of mine ( as my Dad) still outweighs it.  The synchronous march, formulation, salutation, ever longing spirit, mad dash parties, oh boy!!! Just love it, after all who doesn't like dignity, charm and fame? Again, i am the one who gets influence easily, but these Men, make me go woo whoooo!!! So, its a sheer joy to witness these Men even with the skin burning more than the jet bus 750HP exhaust and extending my eyes beyond the 20 degree radar of thunder birds. Oh did i mention, the mimic of Pearl Harbor attack being reenacted was something not to miss.  At this time, i give a damn to the amount $$$ gasoline used for these shows, the pollution created due to artificial bombs and noise pollution. If for this experience, there would drought of gasoline and green house effect  or  some1 gets deaf,  i would still say its Worth IT!!!

I have been to these shows in past, but the company of my beloved friends just makes it a thing to look forward every year. It is in abundance we forget the value of these beloved ones and the quality time we spend with them. I feel nostalgic at the end of such days when am all exhausted and its time to wave goodbye. I just don't wanna stay away from the "wesome" company. Its the charm of friendship, where we join dots out of no where.

This week, i have been mostly focusing winding up my things as i move to a new place next Saturday. Read couple of good Haiku's and other blogger posts that i follow. Sometimes, i just feel, i must read them and forget about putting my thoughts, for their experiences, whines, troubled thoughts make me feel full. Its their whines and lively conversations i feel i have better perspective than when i read books. Again, just my view, book readers, hands up to you!!! Just not my piece of page and read ;) I can't imagine boring my fellow travel mate on flight or Amtrak with an illusive novel and straight face drugged in it, while the mate makes obvious attempts to make some conversation to know me and my fantasies. I can't miss that hall of fame, where people willingly give ear to my outstanding and absolute nothings. I often reconnect with those travel mates, as i am often given visiting cards or contact details after our wesome journey, some have turned good friends over the period and others have just been a lonesome card in the dungeon of my purse. That reminds me, my gregariousness was mistaken by my other travel mate as a call girl last time i planned to travel in general coach while visiting my parents in India. Fun times, well, you know, you can't go right everywhere and with everyone. I had a short panic attack handling the situation, cultural intelligence is something you need to adopt when travelling was my lesson learnt.

Those Blue eyes and labyrinth of the long curls,
Chase for a life happily ever after,
Beyond a short-term infatuation.

With love

W for what?
PS: posted for ABC Wednesday

What is it about you that makes me revisit fairytale in bright daylight with wide open eyes,
What is it about you that makes me smile when you cross my thoughts.
What is it about you that makes me long for you the first thing in morning at times,
What is it  about you that makes me fly on cloud nine to receive your call at unexpected times,
What is it about you that i call you by different names,
What is it about you that i crossed the societal norms,
What is about you that makes me want to be at the receiving end,
What is it about you that makes me feel i own you though i lost you ages ago,

Whats your rashee?

In our hectic lives , we all call out for peace. How dearly we wish to be welcomed by our dear ones on our return from work. Some how i get the same chills when i read Anita's Predictions.
Step 1: Who has to time to greet you each day? I love this part.
Step 2:  Is the drill necessary to get my daily horoscope? What the hell you mean am i sure? Why would i have clicked you had i not wished to look for some feel good wishes from you.
Step 3: So, now i have the enriched horoscope. I am not sure how many of you use this app on fb. But,  according to her, i would meet my dream guy everyday. Now, that is what i need.;) So easy and simple to elude morons like me around this world. Wonder how many girls keep waiting for the prince charming on the white horse.

Step 1

Step 2
Step 3

Now that easy. But i bet if you are into gloomy days or seeking for the what  future holds for me mood, you might have  browsed some horoscope sites. and the worst part is when i come across something which reads
"Jupiter’s  arrival in your fourth house this week through the next twelve months. Both Monday’s solar eclipse and the presence of Mercury in your third house."

What the hell is that now?  Oh it does not end there, it goes on with mercurcy retrograde and the terms which i cant even spell.  What house, what is mercury to do with me?  Ahh may be it has to do with the colored rings people wear or necklaces sold on TV shows.
Common guys, is that so hard to translate these planetary influences in raw english that i can understand? After all. how much does it take to make people feel good with some illusions?

Does it have to  be so complicated?  So you have 12 sun signs and there are moon signs too.  So how does that work, twelve signs but don't we have just 9 planets( considering pluto) to go with? Did these planets have buy one get 50% off deal with the horoscope pundits? Then again there is Chinese astrology with other elements.  Wonder, these planets know if they have been blamed for the evils around, for just spinning around or moving in just a neighbouring space. Poor  Rahu and ketu , would be praying hard people leave them alone or if they had options to change names.

Think of it,
12 signs in horoscope
12 hours in clock
12 months in year
and the funny thing is you can have just one of each. ;) Cost Cutting is not new you see.

Shoes

I like my shoes.
What is it that brings more than 30 comments and 50 likes for a girl's shoe on fb?
Seriously, really, don't these people have anything to do in life??

20 May, 2011

Hyped day of 21st may

Here I am waiting every other day to get few extra hours or extra hands+brains to get done with my thesis project in few days. The propensity of me waiting to get the hours extended would be directly proportional with  the few believers of the "Judgement day".

First of all, what judgment are we gonna make? Moreover, who is gonna judge whom and for what?
Are we going to debate over Christ's crucifixion or gonna debate why sinful people still  breathe next to us each day? If that is the case, who doesn't commit sin? You stepping on earth is burden on mother earth, you farting is insulting the pure air,  blah, blah, more on that later.

Or its the day Christ is gonna be reborn and punish the evil doers. In that case, I would be in favor of this day.One because, i really would like to see a live god.  Just for a while, imagine what if the real Jesus looks different than the one shown to us tall, slim and handsome in white loose robes and long beard with the ever shining radiance over his head but looks pretty much like the guy next door. Ahh, then i have trillion $$ plan, just sue all those religious pundits and portrait artists who have eluded us with those characteristics. Two, if Christ is gonna take all the Christians away, what gadget is he gonna use? I can't count beyond three 0's, so i would be really excited to see the mega gadget which lifts all the christian folks. Its the real test of the those mythic serials depicting the arrival of soul. I get to sue those folks too, if it fails!! ( i can see $$$)

If nothing works according the above plan, i get to laugh at those morons and celebrate my existence. I get to tell my grand kids the story of my immortal soul which survived the "Judgment Day".
I mean really??? You can't even predict the gender of your own child  while in womb without sonogram these days and you can predict the date of last day on earth. Which scientific calculator is that,( if u own one, pass on  to me, so i can earn $$$ predicting ppl's last day)?

So to keep it short, I am really waiting for tomorrow. Either i will be a millionaire or i would  become the immortal survivor.

P.S. People who bother to read my rattles, I can't promise Christ will be reborn, but i am sure of my birthday  on 23rd may. So, we have ample reasons to celebrate.

Shit happens

Its one of those times when you just don't get it! With my recent experience with the best shipping career service "Fedex" I am left with similar bewilderment. Now seeing at the above pic you think its a joke! But trust me shit happens and  this is for real. I am baffled at the following:

  • First, I pay $18 for ground shipping just to our so called neighboring country, Canada ( Really??) You wouldn't consider a Canadian as international person, but hell ya if it is a parcel.
  • Chalo, time is of essence so i paid it. But, it delivered back to my address and fun part is i don't see the shipment except a door tag that was left at my door.  Leave about that, are you telling me the great Fedex needed three freaking days to send the same shipment to original address? Wow!!! I didn't knew fairborn was that big a city!
  • Next, endless waiting on 800-Fedex, i get to know i missed a custom's invoice, so my  question is how can I miss it when I have been to office for it. Ain't it  the attending  clerk's responsibility to make sure all documents were there? How do you expect me to know all the documentation for the shipping?
Amazing and they still haven't figured out where the shipment is. I guess it got wings somewhere in between.

Because you are worth it!

This very year, of this very month, of this very day,
No matter how plagiarized, how redundant it may sound, I remembered you today.
But what if I say,
Your remembrance was worth my time and memory.
Would it then bring a smile and fill your heart with joy?
Well, I hope it does, for i could not figure a better way
of wishing you Happy Birthday!!!

shaadi ke ladoo

 To,
My Dearest Newly Wedded Friends on FB,

Congratulations! Its a delight to see your wedding/engagement pics because

  1. I can now see the real spouse instead of the strong brain storming sessions of who was the last one you dated.
  2. Appreciate your guts of promoting your degradation from "once a master now a slave" role.

But i have hard time when your pics flood my news feed in the month of March. Isn't wedding season supoose to be in  nov-jan & may-jun?[atleast in my times it used to be ;)] Oh Ok, so i accept you wanna declare  are hooked but one pic is enough, isnt it?  I mean seriously, when will you actually use the free "Gmail-Picassa" account???  Or was it an attempt to make singles like me feel like looser and rubbing our asses(ab yehi baki reh gaya tha, gharwale kam the kya?). Since, I have been addicted to Pepsi, I am still convinced with its old slogan  "mere number bhi aayega" when i see such pics but the point here is it is way past the wedding season. So, will you get over that stupid game and on behalf of single's community on fb leave some space for other notifications? I know it sounds rude but I am writing here for a cause.

If you made this far,
I would appreciate you removing your pics,

rain, rain, go away -seriously???

As I walk on the rippled filled payments
managing to stay dry
smelling the drenched leaves
It amuses me why romance is always related to rain??
Is it because they forced romance in 80's bollywood scenes when a girl dances in rain and guy adores her wet looks?
Is it because they showed couples under a umbrella in essel world ads?
Is it because the cool breeze is soothing as beloved's embrace?
Is it the smell of wetland that triggers the romantic hormones?
or
Is it because  mom's pakodas  are sizzling?

Don't tell me you dont find the idea of sharing the umbrella with him/her in rain. You pretty well know neither of you will stay dry but hey, its still romantic, isn't it?
Don't tell me that you don't have craving for pakodas in rain.
Don't tell me you never listened to romantic songs while it rained?
Don't tell me you never cursed a fellow car or bike driver for splashing the puddle over your dress while walking on side way.

Well, we all have different notions with rains.
I have a strong aversion to the writer of the famous nursery rhyme
"Rain, rain, go away, Come again another day;
Little Arthur wants to play."
Because,
  1.  It gave some lame people a reason to hate the natural blessing,
  2. Rhymes are like physchological virus they never get erased from your memory(we all know how we were forced to memorize those as kids and then narrate to every neighbor or family member),
  3. Rainy days can be the best time to be adventurous with your games

As a kid we had a family ritual to embrace the first rain of the season, no matter what.
With my grandpa singing a gujarati rhyme" Aav re varsad, ghebaryo varsad, uni uni rotli ne karela nu shak"[now that is one example i can say though romance and poems have rooted in western world, Indians have embraced it first ;) wanna debate, next time, Peace out]
Not that I liked getting drenched when i just accomplished to stay dry while coming back from school
Made me to think did i just tried hard to stay dry to get wet all over again??
But once, those tiny little droplets hits you,
all you want to do is fight back and say you can't hit me now
oh! how can i forget the puddle splashes and the paper boats.
I used to love rains for getting school days off and mumma's pakodas.
[now that is advantage of schooling in india as you have more than 3months holidays in entire school year]
Last year i was fortunate enough to enjoy the rains and revisit my childhood
But i was counter questioned are you still a kid?
How easily we tend to ignore such little things we once loved as we grow up.
Who said growing up is to give up the things you liked as a kid?
So, shrug that responsible shoulder once it begins to rain,
you dont need to get all drenched, eew i can imagine the plight of people mocking at your wet rear;
but you can pop your hand outside the car or peep out your face and feel the tiny droplets over you,
and if you are just adventurous like me, i would play Frisbee.
If you still not convinced with enjoying in rains, man! I seriously recommend you watching those 80's bollywood rain scenes.

80's bollywood movies reminds me of something else now, but, if i continue i might be showered with my advisor's rebukes, so let me resume again to my bone study.
